SIDERO – YOUR ONE-STOP-SHOPPING PARTNER

Aciers Sidero Staal was founded on 1 December 1944. 3 people were in at the birth of this special steel trading company. These included a commercial and technical delegate from SA BELGE DES FORGES ET ACIERIES DE LA SARRE.

SIDERO originally restricted itself to the supply of steel from the stocks of SA BELGE DES FORGES EN ACERIES DE LA SARRE. But English steel alloys were swiftly becoming available. In 1948 SIDERO acquired the representation of the Canadian group ATLAS STEELS. The company was also involved in the liquidation of the firm ZAPP (KRUPP). During that period a workshop was built for the manufacture of tools from tungsten alloys.

Extensive supply programme
In order to expand the services provided the supply programme was extended with products such as: Cast steel, forged pieces, stellite, tungsten, chrome and cobalt alloys. In addition to tools and construction steel, stainless steel was also included in the range.

During the 1960’s the production of steel in Europe was in full swing once more. A new contract was entered into with ZAPP FORTUNA. Ten years later ZAPP FORTUNA  opened its own commercial department.

Since that time SIDERO has profiled itself as a commercial company which is not tied to one manufacturer. In 1977 this strategy forced the company to open a new, larger warehouse. Since the introduction of an IT system in 1989 there has been a constant optimisation of stock management and the logistical process surrounding the completion of contracts.

ISO 9001
SIDERO possesses quality assurance according to ISO 9001 standards. In addition to the supply of steel in general, during recent decades SIDERO has profiled itself as THE SPECIALIST AND PARTNER in stainless steel of all qualities and specifications.
